The video shows the 5 alleged robbers, 3 on bicycles and 2 on foot, start approaching Kim's apartment complex at 2:19 AM on October 3.
According to the time code on the CCTV footage -- just released on France's M6 News -- the suspects fled the apartment about 49 minutes later. One of the men on bike appears to be toting a backpack during the getaway, and all of them are moving much faster. The camera looks to be at least 40-50 feet away, and the suspects are extremely blurry. Police have not said if they have any leads on the perpetrators.
Ciara drops libel case against Future
"Ciara has a legal problem that actually serves her well ... she can't win her defamation lawsuit against baby daddy Future because she's raking in so much money professionally, she has no damages. Ciara's lawyer, Larry Stein, just filed legal docs dismissing the remaining libel claim she filed after her ex said some choice things about her, including,
"This bitch got control problems." Problem is ... to win a defamation lawsuit, you have to prove you've suffered financially, and Ciara is actually making more money now than before Future talked smack on her. So she's dropped the libel claim -- the judge already dismissed a separate defamation claim -- but the case isn't over.
Russell Wilson's wife is still suing Future for what's called "false light" ... alleging Future has made her look like someone she's not. Proving false light does not require a showing she's lost income. She could get money just for the heartache of it all. So the case goes on.
Father who repeatedly raped his 12-year old daughter' only gets 60-day sentence
As at Thursday morning, there were about 38,000 signed petition on a Change.org petition calling for his impeachment for the 60-day sentence he gave the Glasgow, Montana father who pleaded guilty to repeatedly raping his daughter.
Part of the petition reads:
“A father repeatedly raped his 12-year old daughter.” “It’s time to start punishing the judges who let these monsters walk our streets”.During an Oct. 4 sentencing hearing, Deputy Valley County Attorney Dylan Jenson said Prosecutors had recommended a mandatory 25-year sentence, 100 years with 75 suspended, which is what state law calls for.
Rather than take the advise of the prosecuting team, Judge McKeon handed down a far lighter sentence: a 30-year suspended prison sentence, which means the man will only serve it if he fails to meet the conditions of his probation. (The Judge admits his decision in domestic-abuse case had ‘the most tragic result possible".)
In the note to the AP, McKeon also referenced letters written to him by the victim’s mother and grandmother. Both letters requested the convicted man not be sentenced to prison.
The victim’s mother, who walked in on the man sexually abusing her daughter, wrote that the man’s two sons love him and she wanted his “children have an opportunity to heal the relationship with their father,” according to McKeon.
The victim’s grandmother called the man’s behavior “horrible” but stated that the man’s children, “especially his sons, will be devastated if their Dad is no longer part of their lives.”
Deputy Valley County Attorney Dylan Jensen told the AP that even though the girl's mother and grand mother pleaded for mercy on the man's behalf, no one spoke on behalf of the victim, a 12-year-old girl, at Friday’s sentencing hearing.
The judge also claimed that news coverage obscured state law by failing to mention an exception to the mandatory 25-year prison sentence. According to McKeon, the law allows those arrested for incest involving someone under 12 years old to avoid prison if a psychosexual evaluation finds that psychiatric treatment “affords a better opportunity for rehabilitation of the offender and for the ultimate protection of the victim and society.”
The judge wrote:
"this is one of Montana’s attempts “to encourage and provide opportunities for an offender’s self-improvement, rehabilitation and reintegration back into a community.McKeon’s email concluded:
“All district judges take an oath to uphold the Constitution and laws of this state. These constitutional provisions and laws include certain fundamental legal principles that apply at sentencing, including a presumption of innocence for unproved criminal allegations, the varying sentencing policies and the government’s burden to counter evidence supporting an exception to mandatory sentence.”Among those conditions, which McKeon said were “quite rigorous,” was the requirement for the man to register as a sex offender. He also cannot access pornography and has limited access to the Internet.
In addition, the man will serve 60 days in jail, but McKeon gave him credit for the 17 days he already served, meaning he’ll only spend another 43 days in jail before he is released from jail.
His defense hasn’t stopped the Change.org petition from wracking up signatures, though it likely won’t matter.
The petition to impeach McKeon read:
“No one spoke on behalf of the 12 year old child at trial,” it read. “No one. The victim was not given justice, but instead will have to live with the fear that she still has to face her rapist in their community. ”
McKeon, who has served as a Montana state judge for 22 years, is retiring next month, according to the Associated Press. Considering that an impeachment in Montana, according to the National Center for State Courts, requires a “two-thirds vote of the house of representatives and [a] convict[ion] by a two-thirds vote of the senate,” there wont be enough time to impeach him.
The organizers of the Change.org petition seem to understand this, though. In the petition, they wrote:
Judge McKeon is retiring very soon and does NOT deserve to collect retirement from the people of Montana. He did not fulfill the duties of the position we elected him for. He acted without respect for the laws of the state of Montana.
He did not take care of us. He did not do his job. We should not have to take care of him.

African leaders steal $50bn annually, says German parliament
Lammei made this statement yesterday while receiving in audience some select state parliamentarians and parliamentary staff from Nigeria at the Bundestag, Parliamentary Building in Berlin, Germany. He noted his observation and concerns over the ‘$50 billion’ that often disappeared from the treasury of governments across Africa annually, saying that that would always impede development in the county.
The lawmaker, who revealed that he doesn’t envy the African legislature, ‘giving the state of affairs’, also noted that most African embassies in Germany are not doing enough to change the Germans’ perception of the continent; for this reason, he revealed that the team of lawmakers he is in charge of is on a study tour of German parliament, organised by the Konrad Adnauer Stiftung, a German NGO with Country Office in Nigeria.
“Nigeria is on our itinerary next year. We will be paying a visit to the parliament. Africa’s parliaments are not too good; they are not well equipped, their rights are not respected. In fact they are confronted with major bureaucratic bottlenecks by operators in the executive. Government should keep improving on financial resources for an effective parliament. No country in the world is interested in making parliaments work. Honestly, I don’t envy African MPs giving the state of affairs in their countries. We need to raise awareness of opportunities in Africa rather than disasters. Unfortunately, African ambassadors here in Germany are not helping matters. Although, some of them are active and even visit us here in the parliament, quite a large chunk of them are not,” the lawmaker added.
The lawmaker, who said his group was made up of lawmakers with passion for African development, however, lamented that the rate of corruption remained a major challenge to effectively realising their goals for Africa.
He said;
“It gives me a grave concern, if the number is right as obtained in the press, that $50billion disappears in Nigeria and across Africa annually. The question is, how much does Africa even get as development aid? Many African leaders and politicians invest in other countries. A friend of mine did an album of houses owned by an African in a country. This must stop if the right investments are to come. This is corruption. When I talk to German businessmen about investing in Africa, they often show me the Corruption Index of these countries.
“In Germany, corruption is illegal, as 95% of our businesses are made up mainly of small and medium scale. Families will go and invest only where there is legal security where business is safe,” the lawmaker added.
In closing remarks, KAS Director in Nigeria, Hildegard Behrendt-Kigozi, said the tour was part of efforts being made by the Foundation to help deepen democracy in Nigeria.
According to her, the choice of participants in the programme was informed by the fact that legislature is the centre piece of democratic nation.
