6yr old girl invites the Queen to her birthday party & gets a response

A 6 year old schoolgirl who invited the Queen to her birthday party got a delightful response. Melissa Poll made a card for the Queen congratulating her on becoming the longest reigning monarch- but complained that she hadn’t been allowed into Buckingham Palace.

The 6 year old and her little sister recently visited Buckingham Palace on a family trip, but because of an ongoing strike there was no time to queue up to get inside.

So she wrote to the Queen explaining she was disappointed she could not go inside the palace and also invited the monarch to her birthday party which will take place this month.

It was posted to Buckingham Palace and within a few days Melissa received a response from the Queen’s lady-in-waiting, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The letter personally thanked Melissa for the card and included an apology she could not attend the birthday party.
It read: “The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for your letter in which you tell Her Majesty about your disappointment at not being able to tour the State Apartments at Buckingham Palace.
“Her Majesty was sorry to hear that you and your grandmother tried twice to see inside the palace and that, for various reasons, you were unlucky.”
“Although unable to come to your birthday party, the Queen greatly appreciated your kind thought for her, and I hope you have a lovely time with your family and friends on September 27.
“I am to thank you too for your kind thought in writing about the forthcoming splendid milestone in Her Majesty’s reign.”

Cancer patient receives world's first 3D printed rib cage in new surgical procedure

Two weeks ago, doctors implanted a 3D-printed titanium sternum and ribs into a patient in Spain. According to CNET and reports say he’s doing well.
The patient was suffering from a form of cancer that formed tumors in his chest cavity and to get rid of them, doctors at Salamanca University Hospital needed to cut out a section of his ribs, along with his breastplate.
According to medical reports, usually, doctors would replace the ribcage with a flat piece of titanium, which can actually loosen over time, but 3D printing allows for a more customized implant. The team at Salamanca took CT scans of the patient’s ribcage and used those images both to show surgeons exactly where to cut, and to create a 3D model to print replacement parts.
The team contracted Anatomics, an Australian medical company, to try to understand how to print the file. Anatomics sent the 3D files to the Australian government’s3D-printing lab at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). The lab’s printer prints by using a high-powered electron beam to melt metal powder into layers.
The result was a titanium object that looks less like ribs and more like something you’d see in a car’s engine, and fit perfectly into the patient’s ribcage.
Beyond being able to create truly personalized solutions to medical problems, 3D printing allows doctors to rapidly prototype ideas. In the US, doctors are using 3D printing to produce models for doctors to inspect and figure out the best plan for surgeries, without any invasive biopsies needed. Researchers are also working on 3D-printed tissue implants, but those haven’t been approved for use in humans yet. 3D printing, however, has started to make some regulatory inroads in the US. Last month, the Food and Drug Administration approved the first 3D-printed drug for consumption, and the FDA is researching more safe ways to bring the technology into the human body.

3D printing, especially in medicine, is still in its infancy. The Salamanca team’s achievement may well pave the way for more 3D-printed parts in humans, and perhaps America’s obsession with elective cosmetic surgery may one day extend to 3D-printed improvements. Hopefully no-one tells the Canadian government.

Two topless feminists storm Muslim conference stage during wife beating lecture

2 topless activists stormed the stage during a speech at a Muslim conference in France.
The two women ran on stage, grabbed the microphone and punched the air as the two Imams they interrupted stepped back in shock and discomfort.
Reports claim that the two Imams were addressing the issue of whether men are allowed to beat their wives or not, according to Islam’s teachings when the 2 activists disrupted the lecture.
Reports claim that both women belong to a controversial feminist group called Femen and they both had messages emblazoned on their bare bodies in a black marker.
One of the messages is believed to translate to: "Nobody makes me submit"- a reference to the Islamic idea of 'submission'.

Security guards soon threw the women off stage with more men, possibly organisers of the event, joining in to help throw them out as they struggled with security, even one of the men kicked one of the activists as she was being dragged along the ground.
The group, Femen, are notorious for their use of nudity to protest.

British grandmother who was sentenced to death over drugs meets her granddaughter for the first and last time

A British grandmother Lindsay Sandiford, who has been sentenced to death for smuggling drugs in Bali met her two-year-old granddaughter for the first 'and last' time. The Grandma happily played with Ayla after her parents brought her out to meet her grandma in a Bali prison last week.

The 59-year-old has been sentenced to death after she was caught smuggling large quantities of cocaine.
Despite claiming she was forced into trafficking the drugs due to threats against her son's safety, Mrs Sandiford was told she was scheduled to be executed on September 21.
Although this was later put back until "at least" the end of the year, the grandmother's family raced out to see her and brought the little angel with them to meet Grandma.

After spending time with the youngster, Mrs Sandiford told the Mail on Sunday: "I know this may be the first and last time I ever hold my granddaughter."

Ayla was born seven months after Mrs Sandiford was arrested in Bali in May 2012 and had never before met her grandmother.

The two met up a number of times last week, and a beaming Mrs Sandiford revealed how the youngster was cuddling and kissing her after being introduced.

65yr old German dumps his 26-year-old African wife on Facebook. Acuses her of infidelity, stealing his car and money

65-year-old German Pleschke Heinz-Georg took to his official Facebook account to post a message announcing the official separation from his Kenyan wife. He wrote:
"All friends, note. After the unfortunate incidents in recent weeks, caused by the unlawful conduct before my wife (name withheld), I hereby give official separation from her now on, I take no liability for all her financial or other transactions. I wish her all the best for the future. But please, do not come back."
Mr. Heinz and his young wife have been together for 8 years. They met in 2007 and tied the knot in 2011. In an interview with Citizen Digital, he revealed how he met his wife and other sundry details. "I met my wife in 2007 in Mombasa. Her daughter was six-months-old then. She also told me her dad had died in a road accident in Malindi. So,she needed somebody to take care of her. I agreed to chip in. I told her am too old to marry her; but she told me age is just but a number. She wanted something more meaningful out of the relationship, so I agreed to marry her in 2011. We have now been together for eight years – four dating, four in marriage." The German also said that until their split, he was the sole provider and sustainer of his wife’s lifestyle. "All through I made sure I supported her financially and she lacked nothing. I would also make sure I visited her in Kenya from Germany two times a year; in June and December. I made sure she is living well – I booked her an apartment in Ukunda, opened her salon business, which I came to understand she closed down, sold it for small money and used the funds to finance her hefty lifestyle," Sharing his relocation plans with his wife, George disclosed: "I also told her I know she misses me, but asked her to be patient till I retire in 2013, and then I would come and live with her in Kenya forever. Perhaps buy a plot, make a home and be in each other’s arms."
Though he was happy to take care of her, Georg knew his wife is extravagant.
"She’s the high maintenance kind of woman who likes to show off. She wasted the money on drinking with her friends, and she could hotel-hop with her clique drinking all kinds of expensive liquor."
When asked if he was suspicious of his wife’s philandering ways, he said:

"Some of her friends reported to me these things, but I had no evidence. I had to trust her – she was my wife. Some of them even told me she is sleeping around."
On the incidents that led to his disowning her on Facebook, he narrated:
"On Friday, July 17, I withdrew Sh1 million from the bank. She’d been nagging me to buy her a car, so we agreed we’ll use the money to purchase one on Monday, July 20. I however asked her to keep the money safe in the wardrobe – just to see if I could trust her."
On Saturday, July 18, the couple visited a restaurant, and Georg says she asked him for permission to use his car to visit a friend.
"She’d promised she’d come pick me after two hours. The period elapsed, and several hours later I still did not see her. I tried calling her but her cell phone was switched off. I got worried and reported the matter to police. I then proceeded home; only to be shocked to find her belonging plus the Sh1 million she’d kept in the wardrobe missing.”
He revealed the police could not trace her, and that she’d changed her phone number. However, he contacted his wife’s friends who told him that she had eloped with another man who resides in Mombasa. When he got in touch with his wife on Facebook, Heinz claims she opened up why she left without warning.
"In one of the messages, she sent me read: ‘I spent eight years of my young life with you. I just took Sh1 million and you are complaining! I needed the car too to start a new life.’" he said.
The 65-year-old narrated how he sold his home and property in Germany to come start a new life with his wife in Kenya.
"After retiring from work in 2013 and finishing my relocation plans from Germany, I joined my wife in Mombasa in June 2015. I even told her maybe I have 25 years of life, and that our lives would be a happy one with no financial difficulties. But I am sad, she ended up disappointing me! I am hearing through our mutual friend that she said if I forgive her, she’d come back. But I have moved on; I just want a divorce!"
Maanwhile, his wife commented on the post saying,
"I don’t argue with fools. I am your third wife by law without counting girlfriends in between. Does it mean every woman you met is bad? Go to court and apply for a divorce. Facebook won’t help you in any way."

Photo of policeman and the man who tried to stab him goes viral

A North Carolina policeman shared a Facebook photo showing his run-in with a man who tried to stab him last year. Raleigh Police Officer JD Boyd took to Facebook after reuniting with a former suspect who nearly killed him, posting an image of both of them together smiling with a message.
"Almost a year ago this man and I were involved in a major altercation where he tried to stab me in the head and I nearly shot him. Today we ran into each other again and I learned that after his time in prison and some help from probation he now has a full time job and has another son on the way that will be here in November.

I was glad it ended well for us both that day and I am ecstatic now to learn that he has turned his life around and we can embrace as friends".
"No one is ever lost forever and as long as you continue to work to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday things will work out eventually".
