Photos: Zakari Mohammed, Boko Haram 'chief butcher' still in police custody

There were reports that Boko Haram 'Chief Butcher' Zakari Mohammed (pictured above) who was arrested a while back had escaped from police custody but the Nigerian police force have denied this.

They released these photos of Mohammed speaking with pressmen in Abuja today at a police facility in Abuja.

Nigerian nurse dies of Ebola virus as FG confirms 7 new cases

Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, speaking today August 6th at a news conference in Abuja said a Nigerian nurse has died from the Ebola Virus. He said the nurse worked at the Lagos hospital where Liberian Patrick Sawyer was treated. He said she died yesterday August 5th. He also revealed that five medical practitioners who interacted with Sawyer have been confirmed to have contracted the deadly virus
"Nigeria has now recorded seven confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease. The first one was the index case, which is the imported case from Liberia of which the victim is now late. Yesterday, 5th August, 2014, the first known Nigerian to die of the EVD was recorded and this was one of the nurses that attended to the Liberian. The other five cases are currently being treated at the Isolation Ward in Lagos.” he said
The Minister noted that all Nigerians diagnosed with the disease had primary contact with the late Liberian man. He then announced the appointment of Prof. O. Onajole, of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, who will be based in Lagos, as the Director, Communication and Community Mobilisation for the Ebola Virus Disease.

Photo: Nigerian women & children take refuge in Chad Desert Island

Photo above shows Nigerian women and children currently taking refuge in the Chadian Island of Choua, a desert land that is in no way habitable. The women and children ran to the Chad island after numerous attacks on their village, Kolikolia in Borno State by the Boko Haram sect.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Ariane Rummery, the Chad Government has signified interest in moving the women and children to a habitable village where they can settle and get minimal comfort.

Mother jailed for having sex with her 12year-old son while her partner watched

A mother has been jailed for having sex with her 12-year-old son - while her partner watched and directed her over a webcam.
The woman wore headphones as she abused the boy in her bedroom as her lover viewed online from abroad.
The boy told police how he could hear his 39-year-old mother being told what to do as she gave him a 'sex lesson'. Continue...

The offence came to light when the woman 'blurted out' that she had abused the older of her two sons while speaking to a domestic abuse charity about her partner.

A court heard that her 'highly destructive' partner had so far escaped justice.
The woman, who cannot be named to protect her son, was jailed for three years and three months at Bristol Crown Court.

Judge Michael Longman told her: 'Your behaviour towards your son was contrary to human instincts and basic decency.
'It occurred after you met a man who clearly was controlling and over-bearing; a man who, it is also clear, should be prosecuted himself but is outside the jurisdiction and beyond the reach of this investigation.

'Even though he was at a distance from you, he continued to exert that influence, but you continued to behave towards your son in a way which, despite that pressure, your own instincts should have prevented.'

The court heard that the boy was just 11 or 12 when the abuse took place.
It came to light when his mother made a complaint at Next Link Domestic Abuse Services in Bristol.
Her confession was passed on to Avon and Somerset police and she was taken in for questioning, and the boy was interviewed.

 Prosecuting, Mark Hollier said: 'In a very ordinary voice, he described an incident to the police officers about how his mother had given him a sex lesson in the main bedroom of the family home and this was observed by [the partner] via a webcam and computer link.'
The mother - who cried through much of the hearing - denied 'volunteering' to have sex with her son.
She was charged with engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a boy under 13 which she admitted.

The court heard that her two sons were taken into care by social services and are now living with a foster family.
The abusive partner is still abroad and police are liaising with authorities in that country - which can't be named for legal reasons - to bring him to justice.
Defending, Fiona Elder, said it was an 'extremely unusual' case and the mother was acting on instructions from her 'highly destructive' partner.

She added: 'She's absolutely devastated by the loss of the children and what she has done.'
A psychiatric report found the woman had a personality disorder which made her susceptible to being in abusive relationships and would become dependent on abusive partners.
Judge Longman imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order and ordered the woman to sign the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.

Redeemers University student who killed father remanded in prison

The murder case against 21 year old Redeemers University student, Tolani Ajayi, who killed his 60 year old lawyer father, Charles Ajayi, on July 21st at the Redemption camp, came up for hearing today August 5th at an Ogun State Magistrate Court in Owode-Egba, Ogun state.
 
The Magistrate, Bolaji Ojikutu after hearing the charge against Tolani ordered that he be remanded in prison until October 10 when the case will be heard again. The case file, according to court sources, will be sent to the Department of Public Prosecution, DPP, for advice.
 
 Sadly Tolani had no legal representative in court today and so could not enter any plea. Continue...
 
The charge against Tolani read in part: 
“That you, Tola Ajayi, on 21 July, 2014, at about 4am at Canaan-Land Street, RCCG Camp, Mowe in the Owode Egba Magistrate Court District did unlawfully kill one Charles Ajayi, aged 60, by matcheting him with knife and cutlass and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 316 and punishable under section 319(1) of the criminal code, laws of Ogun State of Nigeria. 2006.”
Tolani, who has long expressed regret over the unfortunate incident, said anger was what made him carry out the abominable act. He said an argument with his father degenerated into a physical attack first from his father before he attacked his father with a kitchen knife and a machete.

Manchester united win the ICC cup with new boss

Manchester United has been in good form through out their pre-season games and they dominated over Liverpool in a 3-1win to carry the ICC cup championship with their new manager Louis van-gaal and their captain Wayne rooney. Manchester United fans are sure happy with the way our new manager is going we are hoping go head the league table in the upcoming season.
